1.    WHAT ANTISEPTIC GARGLE AND MOUTHWASH IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR

The name of your medicine is Antiseptic Gargle and Mouthwash. It contains the active ingredient phenol BP 0.71% w/v. It is used:

•    to freshen breath and soothing sore throats

•    as a mouthwash

2.    BEFORE YOU USE ANTISEPTIC GARGLE AND MOUTHWASH

Do not use Antiseptic Gargle and Mouthwash if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to phenol or to any of the other ingredients. See section 6.

Do not swallow.

Taking other medicines

Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have taken recently taken any medicines, including medicines obtained without prescription.

Pregnancy and Breast-feeding

Consult your doctor before taking any medicine if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or if you are breast-feeding.

3. HOW TO USE ANTISEPTIC GARGLE AND MOUTHWASH

Follow the directions on this package leaflet or pack carefully, and ask your pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Dilute one part of the solution with three parts of warm water. Thoroughly rinse the mouth or gargle with the diluted solution for up to 20 seconds morning and evening or more frequently, as required. Do not swallow.

If you accidentally swallow Antiseptic Gargle and Mouthwash, please consult your doctor or pharmacist.

4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

Like all medicines, Antiseptic Gargle and Mouthwash can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Very serious side effects -if any of the following happens, stop using Antiseptic Gargle and Mouthwash and tell your doctor immediately or go to the nearest hospital emergency department:

• Accidental ingestion or if taken in large doses may lead to local corrosion with pain, nausea (feeling sick), vomiting, sweating or diarrhoea.

If any of the side-effects gets serious, or if you notice any side-effect not listed here, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

5.    HOW TO STORE ANTISEPTIC GARGLE AND MOUTHWASH

Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Do not use Antiseptic Gargle and Mouthwash after the expiry date which is stated on the label. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

Antiseptic Gargle and Mouthwash should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of this product no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.

The active substance is Phenol. The other ingredients are glycerine, peppermint oil, amaranth solution and water.
