Salicylic Acid 17% w/w Liquid Wart Remover

1.    What is Compound W used for?

Compound W is for the treatment of common warts and verrucae. Common warts have a thick cauliflower-like surface. Verrucas occur on the sole of the foot and may be covered in hard skin.

2.    Before using Compound W Do not use...

•    If you are allergie to any of the ingredients in this product. See 'What does Compound W contain?' for the full list of ingredients.

•    On moles, birth marks, or on hairy, genital or facial warts. If in doubt ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Take special care...

•    If you are diabetic you should speak to your doctor before treating any foot condition.

•    Do not apply this product to healthy skin or skin which is inflamed or broken. If it comes into contact with healthy skin, wash it off immediately with plenty of water. Avoid contact with the eyes and mouth.

3.    How to use Compound W

•    For external use only.

Adults, the elderly and children 6 years and over:

•    Gently rub the hard skin from the surface of the wart with a pumice stone or emery board.

•    Apply the Iiquid one drop at a time until the wart is covered.

•    Allow to dry and cover with a waterproof plaster.

•    Replace cap tightly after use.

•    Repeat daily with regular washing for up to twelve weeks.

If the wart does not dissolve or gets worse, speak to your doctor.

Children under 6 years:

• Not to be used on children under 6 years unless your doctor tells you to.

4. Possible side effects

No side effects have been reported following use of this product. If you feel you are reacting badly to this medicine in any way, then stop using the product and speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

5 How to store Compound W

•    Keep out of the reach and sight of children.

•    Do not store above 25C.

•    Flammable: Keep away from naked flames.

•    Do not use after the expiry date shown on the label.

•    If you find that you still have this medicine after its expiry date, return it to your local pharmacist who will dispose of it properly.

6. What does Compound W contain?

Compound W contains 17% by weight of the active ingredient salicylic acid.

Salicylic acid which has keratolytic properties, which means that it softens and dissolves the areas of hard skin associated with warts and verrucas and aids their removal.

It also contains acetone, industrial methylated spirits 99%, pyroxylin and castor oil.

Compound W is available in a clear glass bottle containing 6.5 ml of clear liquid for external application.
