1. WHAT EUCALYPTUS OIL IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
The name of your medicine is Eucalyptus Oil BP. It contains the active ingredient called Eucalyptus Oil. It exerts a mild inflammatory effect on the mucous membranes (inner layer of skin) of mouth and digestive tract, which induces a feeling of warmth and increases salivation, thus loosening any thick mucus present and soothing inflammation.
It is used for the symptomatic relief of thick mucus build up and coughs.
2. BEFORE YOU USE EUCALYPTUS OIL
Do not use Eucalyptus Oil if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Eucalyptus Oil.
Take special care with Eucalyptus Oil

Pregnancy and Breast-feeding
Please consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breast-feeding, before using this medicine.
Taking other medicines
Please consult your pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without prescription. Eucalyptus oil may react with other medicines and products.
3. HOW TO USE EUCALYPTUS OIL
Follow the directions on this package leaflet or pack carefully, and ask your pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand.
For nasal administration
Adults, the Elderly and Children:
Place two drops on a handkerchief and inhale.
For oral administration Adults, the Elderly and Children:
Place three drops on a sugar lump. Use 3 to 4 times a day, as required
If you accidentally swallow any or use more Eucalyptus oil than you should, please consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, Eucalyptus oil may cause side-effects, although not everybody gets them.
Very serious side effects - If any of the following happens, stop using Eucalyptus Oil and tell your doctor immediately or go to the nearest hospital emergency department:
• Nausea (feeling sick)
• Vomiting
• Diarrhoea
• Burning sensation whilst urinating
• Difficulties in breathing
• Memory loss or confusion
• Excitement
• Fits
If you notice any side-effect not listed here, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
5. HOW TO STORE EUCALYPTUS OIL
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
Keep the container tightly closed.
Do not use Eucalyptus Oil after the expiry date which is stated on the label. The expiry date refers to the last date of that month.
Eucalyptus Oil should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of this medicine when it is no longer required. These measures will help to protect environment

Eucalyptus oil is colourless or pale yellow liquid with a characteristic odour and comes in glass bottle with a plastic cap in pack sizes of 25ml and 50ml.
