This medicine is available without prescription. However, you still need to use George’s American Liniment carefully to get the best results from it.

1. WHAT GEORGE’S AMERICAN LINIMENT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR.
George's American Liniment contains eucalyptus oil, turpentine oil, capsicum, rosemary oil and synthetic camphor (see section 6 for more information) and is a traditional remedy for the symptomatic relief of rheumatic pain, lumbago, sciatica, stiff joints, backache and cramp.
2. BEFORE YOU USE GEORGE’S AMERICAN LINIMENT.
Do not use George’s American Liniment
If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to eucalyptus oil, rosemary oil, turpentine oil, camphor, capsicum or any of the other ingredients in George’s American Liniment (see Section 6). Do not use if you are under 12 years of age.
Taking other medicines
Before using any medicine, please tell your pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without prescription.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using any medicine.
3. HOW TO USE GEORGE’S AMERICAN LINIMENT.
Wash your hands before and after use. This product is for external use only and must only be applied to the skin. Do not apply to broken or damaged skin, the eyes, nose or mouth. Adults, elderly, children 12 years and above: Apply to the affected areas up to three times a day. Do not swallow.
What to do if you or somebody accidentally swallows this product or if you apply too much
If you accidentally apply too much liniment, wash off any excess.
If you swallow any of George’s American Liniment, or if you think a child has swallowed any of the liniment, contact your nearest hospital casualty department or your doctor immediately. Please take this leaflet, any remaining liniment and the container with you to the hospital or doctor so that they know what was consumed. Do not try to induce vomiting.
What do do if you miss a dose
If you miss a dose, apply the next dose at the usual time. Do not apply double the dose.
If you have any further questions on the use of this product, ask your pharmacist.
4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS.
No side effects have been reported for this product when used as directed. However, as with all medicines, George’s American Liniment may cause side effects in some people.
If you notice any side effects, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
5. HOW TO STORE GEORGE’S AMERICAN LINIMENT.
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
Do not use George’s American Liniment after the expiry date that is stated on the label. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. There are no special storage requirements for this product.
Medicines should not be disposed of via waste water or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines which are no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.

What George’s American Liniment contains
-The active substances are eucalyptus oil (2.00% v/v), turpentine oil (5.02% v/v), capsicum (2.47% w/v), rosemary oil (0.30% v/v) and synthetic camphor (2.01% w/v). -The other ingredients are industrial methylated spirits, water and soft soap.
What George’s American Liniment looks like and contents of the pack
-George's American Liniment is an amber-coloured liquid solution in a white flint glass bottle.
-George's American Liniment is available in 75 mL and 150 mL packs. Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
