Napiers Marshmallow Skin Salve is a traditional herbal medicinal product containing Marshmallow root, Slippery Elm bark, sublimed sulphur and zinc oxide. For full details see Section 6.
Napiers Marshmallow Skin Salve is a traditional herbal medicinal product used for the symptomatic relief of minor skin conditions causing skin irritation such as dermatitis and mild eczema, based on traditional use only.
2. BEFORE YOU TAKE THIS
PRODUCT
Do not use this product if you:
• are under 12 years old
• are pregnant or breastfeeding
• are allergic to any of the ingredients
• have widespread redness, oozing or infected skin sores, or the skin is broken
If the affected area has suddenly become inflamed consult a doctor or a qualified health practitioner._
Important information about some of the ingredients in this medicine
This product contains lanolin (wood fat) cetostearyl alcohol. Which may cause local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis)
Avoid contact with eyes or mucous membrane.
3. HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT
For cutaneous use only.
Wash hands before and after use.
Adults, the Elderly and Children over 12 years of age: Apply to affected skin sparingly once at night and once in the morning.
If symptoms worsen or persist after 2 weeks, consult a doctor or a qualified health practitioner.
If you use too much (overdose).
If you accidentally apply too much ointment, it is unlikely to cause any harm. Excess ointment can be washed off.
If you forget to use this product
If you forget to use this medicine, use it as soon as you remember. Then next use this medicine at the usual time.

4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
No side effects have been reported with this product.

5. HOW TO STORE THIS PRODUCT
Do not use this product after the expiry date. The expiry date is printed on the label and on the bottom of the carton.
Do not store above 25°C. Store in the original container.
There are no special precautions for disposal.
Keep this product out of the reach and sight of children.
6. FURTHER INFORMATION
Each 50 g contains:
6.5 % w/w Marshmallow root (Althea officinalis),
2.5 % w/w Slippery Elm bark (Ulmus fulva),
1.3 % w/w sublimed sulphur 1.95 % w/w zinc oxide
Also contains castor oil, chlorophyll oil-soluble E140, wool fat (lanolin anhydrous), hard paraffin, cetostearyl alcohol, Rosemary oil, Eucalyptus oil and yellow soft paraffin.

What is Marshmallow?
Marshmallow or marsh mallow is a pretty flowering herb native to the British Isles. An extract from the root is used in making this medicine.
What is Slippery Elm Bark?
Slippery Elm is a species of elm tree native to eastern North America. Powder from the bark is used in this medicine.
What is Sublimed Sulphur ?
Sublimed sulphur is a medicinal form of naturally occurring non-toxic elemental sulphur, traditionally known as 'Flowers of Sulphur'. It has been used in traditional medicine since the Ancient Egyptians, as recorded in the Ebers Papyrus (1500 BC)
What is Zinc Oxide?
Zinc oxide is an inorganic non-toxic compound made from oxidizing zinc, a naturally occurring metal. It has been used in traditional medicine since the ancient Greeks, as recorded by the Greek physician Dioscorides (40-90 AD).
