What is your medical preparation?
The name of the product is Surgical Spirit BP. It is a clear colourless liquid with the odour of Methly Salicylate (Wintergreen) and contains Methly Salicylate and Diethyl Phthalate as active ingredients. It also contains Castor Oil and Industrial Methylated Spirit (alcohol).
What is the preparation for?
The spirit is applied to the surface of the skin for use as a cleansing agent It also has antiseptic properties.

Before using the spirit
Inform your Doctor or Pharmacist if you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed above. How to use the spirit
The spirit can be used by children and adults (including the elderly). It should be used only on the external surfaces of the skin and may be rubbed onto unbroken skin using an absorbent swab (eg. cotton wool, gauze etc )

If you have any side effects or symptoms as a result of using this spirit, consult your Doctor or Pharmacist immediately If swallowed seek medical advice
When should the spirit NOT be used
You should NOT use the spirit on broken skin or open wounds
How should you store the spirit
Do not use the spirit after the expiry date shown on the label Store in a cool place in the dry. Keep the container tightly closed. Keep out of the reach of children.

The spirit is HIGHLY FLAMMABLE. It should not be used near a naked flame or any other source of ignition.
