1. What this product is and what it is used for

Weleda HyperCal Wound Salve is a traditional herbal medicinal product used for the relief of sore, minor cuts and wounds. This is based on traditional use only.

2. Before using this product

Do not use Weleda HyperCal Wound Salve if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or to plants of the Asteraceae (Compositae) family (see Section 6), if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or under 12 years of age.

• Special warnings and precautions for use:

♦    avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes

♦    in some patients Weleda HyperCal Wound Salve may cause irritation to

the skin when first applied. If you experience any redness, itching or dry skin discontinue use and consult your doctor or qualified healthcare practitioner.

♦    Weleda HyperCal Wound Salve is for external use only.

♦    contains Wool Fat (Lanolin which may cause local skin reactions such as contact dermatitis

♦    do not expose affected areas to UV light during treatment e.g. sunlight, sunbeds

♦    if you notice any signs of skin infection you should consult your doctor or qualified healthcare practitioner.

3. How to use this product

Directions: Check that the tube seal is not broken before first use. Pierce the seal with point in end of cap. Weleda HyperCal Wound Salve is for application to the skin.

Wash hands before and after use.

Adults the elderly and children over 12 years of age: Clean the affected area and apply directly or on a dry dressing two or three times daily.

Do not exceed the stated dose. Weleda HyperCal Wound Salve should not be used continuously for longer than one week. If symptoms worsen or persist after one week consult a doctor or qualified healthcare practitioner.

Possible side-effects

Like all medicines Weleda Hypercal Wound Salve can cause side-effects although not everybody gets them. Weleda Hypercal Wound Salve can cause localised skin reactions such as skin sensitisation and a condition called contact dermatitis. If your skin feels itchy, you develop a patch of dry, red, inflamed skin or a rash you should stop using Weleda Hypercal Wound Salve and consult your doctor or qualified healthcare practitioner.

If you experience any unwanted effects consult your doctor or qualified healthcare practitioner.

5. How to store this product

•    keep out of the reach and sight of children

•    do not store above 25°C

•    do not use after the expiry date on the carton

•    store in the original container

•    return any unused medicine to your pharmacist for safe disposal

6. Further Information

1g of ointment contains the following ingredient: 0.2ml of a mixture of Hypericum perforatum tincture (equivalent to 0.040g Hypericum perforatum L. herb) and Calendula officinalis tincture (equivalent to 0.042g Calendula officinalis L. herb). Extraction solvent: Ethanol 90% v/v.

Other ingredients are: Wool Fat (Lanolin), Sunflower Oil, Olive Oil, Yellow Beeswax, and Wool Alcohols.

Pack Description: Weleda HyperCal Wound Salve is a buff to pale yellow ointment presented in an aluminium tube with a white pierce screw cap, containing 25g of ointment.
